Lighting and Sightlines
Motion-activated exterior lighting is inexpensive and genuinely effective — most burglars are looking for an easy, unnoticed target, and a light triggering removes that. While you’re at it, walk your property and trim back anything overgrown enough to hide a person near a door or window; landscaping that looks nice from the street can also be great cover for someone testing a lock.
